Bidhannagar Mayor Krishna Chakraborty resigns, another massive blow to TMC
West Bengal Governor C.V. Ananda Bose has reportedly received a chilling assassination threat via email, sent on Thursday. According to sources, the email contained the ominous message "Will Blast Him." Following the receipt of this threat, the matter was immediately brought to the attention of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Consequently, the security cover for the Governor, who already enjoys Z-plus category protection, was significantly enhanced by the CRPF and state police on Thursday night.
This is not the first time Governor Bose has been targeted with such threats. He has frequently been at the center of political storms in the state, often raising questions about the deteriorating law and order situation in West Bengal. Recently, the Governor met with President Droupadi Murmu to discuss the state's progress and released a manifesto detailing the steps needed for Bengal's improvement. While he maintains these actions are purely within his constitutional duties, they have often led to friction with the state government.
In a surprising and bold response to the threat, Governor Bose decided to step out on the streets of Kolkata on Friday without any security personnel. He expressed his firm belief that the common people of Kolkata would provide him with the necessary protection. This act of defiance is seen as a direct challenge to those attempting to intimidate him and serves as a statement on the very law and order issues he has been highlighting.
